Annapurna Lodge: A Designer House Near Hirafu
The Annapurna Lodge, situated in the Ruhiel (Yamada) area on the back road linking Hirafu and Kutchan, offers a unique and sophisticated alpine retreat. This designer house provides direct views of Mt. Yotei and is less than a six-minute drive (3.1km) to the Hirafu ski village, with Kutchan Station and local supermarkets also just a short drive away. The property was carefully designed by a team of Japanese architects to make full use of the site, efficiently managing winter snow while maintaining clear panoramic views of Mt. Yotei from throughout the house.
Property features include a 287 sqm land area and a 125.6 sqm floor area. The house contains two bedrooms and two bathrooms, featuring a downstairs wooden bath and an upstairs shower room. Built in 2021, it includes underfloor heating in living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms. The kitchen is equipped with a Miele induction hob, combi-oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and coffee machine. Design elements showcase custom Hokkaido woodwork, shoji screens, and tatami spaces. Technology features include smart TVs in every room, complimentary Wi-Fi, and an in-suite digital concierge tablet. Practical features encompass a private foyer, a ski-wear closet, and an efficient snow management design.
The open-plan first floor, with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, maximizes natural light and the Mt. Yotei vista, creating a modern, minimalist yet warm atmosphere. The layout is planned as a family getaway with two distinct living spaces: a master bedroom upstairs and a family-oriented bedroom on the ground floor, each offering ample room and privacy. Traditional touches like tatami spaces and shoji accents add cultural authenticity and flexibility.
