A Traditional Storehouse-Attached Kominka in Minamimaki Village
This property is a traditional kominka (old folk house) with a dozou (storehouse) located in Kainokuchi, Minamimaki Village. Situated approximately 200 meters from National Route 141, the land slopes down to the west, offering elevated views over the residential area below. The south side of the plot features a garden, providing the building with excellent sunlight. Next to the stone wall by the storehouse, there is an outdoor water faucet and washing area.
The building itself is constructed on a stone foundation that predates the use of cornerstone stones, giving an older impression, with small stones laid out as a base. The pillars and beams are crafted from original logs, shaped while retaining their natural curves, a feature typically only seen in very old structures. Although the completion date is listed as January 1980, there are no records, and it is said to be a building from over 100 years ago. This is an exceptionally old building that requires careful preservation to prevent its loss. The main house's roof has been re-thatched, and both the storehouse and main house have been renovated. The property is ready for immediate use, but renovation is also a consideration. The elevation is 1063 meters.
