Newly Built Traditional Kyoto Townhouse (Kyo-machiya) Project "Kyo Tsumugi"
This is a project offering newly built Kyo-machiya (traditional Kyoto townhouses) for sale, developed by Hachise. The property is located in a dead-end alley (roji) in Kyoto, which previously could not be rebuilt due to building code requirements. Hachise purchased the land from the owner and utilized the "Rentan Building Design System" to treat the entire alley as a single site, allowing for reconstruction. The project includes four units: A, B, C, and D lots. The alley has been fully paved with stone to restore a scenic Kyoto streetscape. An evacuation route has been provided between the back alley and the property to ensure two-way evacuation safety, meeting the requirements of the system. The construction uses traditional Japanese building methods (Dento Koho) with natural materials such as solid wood pillars and flooring. The design philosophy emphasizes creating a home that can be cherished for over 100 years, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern safety standards.
