Sonnet Kusatsu Resort Apartment Overview
This property is a resort apartment located in the popular hot spring town of Kusatsu, Gunma Prefecture. The building, named Sonnet Kusatsu, is a 14-story structure with a total of 333 units, constructed in December 1989 by Sumitomo Construction. The building's structure is steel-framed reinforced concrete (SRC).
The property offers an extensive range of shared facilities that are a major highlight. These include a large communal bath (hot spring bath), an open-air bath (rotenburo), a sauna, an athletic room, a ski locker room, a billiards corner, and a mahjong room. The large communal hot spring bath uses natural hot spring water sourced directly from the source (kakenagashi). It is available 24 hours a day year-round, though cleaning hours are from 10:00 to 14:00 (and from 9:30 to 15:00 on Wednesdays). The sauna is open from 16:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and from 15:00 to 22:00 on weekends, holidays, and during peak seasons. There are also family baths available. The building has a parking lot with 62 indoor and 77 outdoor spaces, which are free to use. An auto-lock system is in place 24 hours a day.
Regarding the property's utilities, the electricity is provided by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). There is no gas connection. Drinking water comes from the town's water supply, and drainage is connected to the public sewer system. The building is equipped for digital terrestrial and BS broadcasting, and a fiber optic internet line is available (individual contracts possible). Wi-Fi is also available in the lobby. The building is managed by Angel Community Co., Ltd., with a resident manager on duty daily from 8:00 to 18:00. Night-time management is also available. Previous major renovation work was carried out in September 2004, and another large-scale renovation is scheduled to begin in 2026. Pets are not allowed in this building. As a special note, viewing of the large communal bath is generally only permitted during cleaning hours from 10:00 to 14:00.
