Ocean View Resort Land Adjacent to the Kumano Kodo in Minabe Town
This is a resort land offering an ocean view overlooking Senri-no-hama Beach in Minabe Town, Wakayama Prefecture, an area known as one of Japan's premier sea turtle nesting sites. The property is located just a one-minute walk from Senri-oji, the only Kumano Kodo shrine situated along the coast, and the Kumano Kodo trail runs directly adjacent to the land. This setting combines abundant nature and historical significance, providing a unique environment for enjoyment.
The land is surrounded by the sea, forest, and a river, with a large cherry blossom tree standing as a symbolic feature on the property. In addition to the view of Senri-no-hama Beach, a river flows along the boundary of the land, allowing for firefly viewing in early summer. The cherry tree, which exceeds 10 meters in height, enables hanami (cherry blossom viewing) within the property during spring.
Bamboo had overgrown the site for several decades, but in July 2024, all vegetation was cleared and the entire land was leveled. This makes it possible to drive vehicles onto the property and to set up a container house for use as a vacation home or a base for fishing and camping. A private path leads to Senri-no-hama Beach, which is a one-minute walk away, and Senri-oji is a two-minute walk. The land is categorized as "forest" for tax purposes, resulting in very low fixed property taxes. Two utility poles stand on the property, generating rental income from the power company that exceeds the annual property tax amount. The poles are positioned so as not to obstruct vehicle access.
The property includes a container house (installed in April 2025, measuring 2.5m x 4m) equipped with a shower, toilet, and bunk beds. External water supply, electrical power, a combined septic tank (installed in May 2025), and Wi-Fi are available. The land size is 724 square meters (approximately 220 tsubo).
